I always knew that hosting, even for a small showcase, is never easy. But until today (or rather, yesterday), I didnt know it'd be that difficult to pull off. Take for example the four small scaled showcases in Nov. We, the performing group, practised and scripted the hosting portion of the show, so at the very least, i thought: "Hey, if we prepare sufficiently, it should be no prob!". And even during the showcases I managed to throw in a few lines of my own.
The rehearsals for Chinatown Point's show (in hosting) totally threw me off. I couldnt react fast enough, couldnt bring in fresh jokes and lines. It felt like a total disaster. Thankfully, with the guidance of William and Elson, we managed to come up with something viable, and i truly hope that we can bring up the atmosphere of the place and to excite the crowd.
Speaking of practise, I feel that it might be a simple word, but it carries with it the essence of Music. I've never believed in that someone cannot learn music because he/she is not talented enough, or has troubles even identifying notes. I only believe in practise. Though i plead guilty to the lack of practise these few weeks (on my instruments), it is only because i'm busy with other forms of practise, those with my performing group family.
Well, brain dead liao.. Haha, its been a really long day.. See you guys all at Chinatown Point 4th and 5th of Dec 1 - 2pm and 5 - 6pm! =)
Ja ne~
