Happy Boxing Day!

Hello! It's Boxing Day today! I'm fine, and how have you been?

Peter, Joanne, Celin and myself have just finished our Christmas performance at Chinatown point, and we're now preparing hard for a New Year's Day performance there. Karen, Jessica and Eddy are performing later today at Bian's Cafe. To say that all of us have been performing and preparing hard would be an understatement.

Speaking of performances, after a recent performance, someone whom I know (also a performer) told me that he wasn't in a position to criticise my singing because he felt he wasn't good enough to do so.

Why does one feel that he has to be a good singer to be in a position to criticise another singer? You aren't using your mouth to listen to my singing; you're using your ears. If we put criticising as a privilege which should be extended only to people who can do your job better, many newspaper columnists would be out of job, as there won't be any reviews about movies, cars and food. You don't have to be a good film-maker to tell everyone that a movie made you laugh and cry in equal amounts, you only need your eyes. You don't have to be a good mechanic to say that a car is easy to operate; you only need your hands. You don't have to be a good chef to know that the plate of fried chicken wings is too salty; you only need to use your mouth.
"You don't have to have been a horse to be a jockey." - Arrigo Sacchi, former Italian national soccer team coach.
If you happen to have a thing or two to say about how well we did (or where we need to improve) as a whole, please do not hesitate to tell us, no matter who you are, or what you do. Your views matter a lot to us. Therefore, please feel free to talk to us after our performances, so that we know where we did well, and where we can do better.

We are a bunch of performers who give our best every time we go up on stage, and if you wish to give us a pat on the back, or would like to tell us how we can improve, come talk to us when you see us perform. We value your feedback.

Happy Boxing Day, everyone. :-) Come support us at Chinatown Point on 1 January 2011! More details to come!

Cheers,
